Republicans are trying to use transphobia to defeat abortion rights. They just failed their first test.

Does the GOP have any message other than transphobia?

At a telephone town hall, gubernatorial candidate Kelly Craft twice stated that if she is elected there will be no more trans people in Kentucky schools.

The troubling combination of anti-trans propaganda and the GOP’s continued politicization of local government roles.

The former Vice President is buying ads in Iowa promoting anti-trans hysteria as he mulls a presidential run, joining Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump in a shadow primary to establish their transphobic bona-fides.

Dozens of laws targeting trans people have been introduced by Republians in legislatures all over the US. Many have near-identical wording.

Some on the right are barely masking their support for the slaughter of innocents at Club Q. The rest deny there’s any problem with their extreme rhetoric at all.

It’s good news for the trans community, but don’t expect the GOP to move on from anti-trans messages so easily.
