US Forces Trans Women to Register for the Draft, RW Media Gloats

The Washington Times today has an article gloating over the fact that trans women are currently required to resgister for the Selective Service System (SSS), a long-dormant system built to oversee a wartime draft in the US, while trans men are not required to register at this time. Much of the article seems aimed at delivering transphobic cheap shots, such as this one:

Although there’s been no change in the policy since Biden took office, the Biden Administration has supported efforts to institute universal SSS registration. This would make registration for the draft equally necessary for both women and men.
