UPDATE: Club Q Shooter Charged With Hate Crimes

Prosecutors are moving ahead with hate crimes for the 22-year-old accused of murdering 5 people in an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado shortly before Thanksgiving. An NBC report sheds light on some of the possible evidence.

UPDATE: Some possible context for the hate crimes charges has been found by reporters for NBC.

Their reporting suggests Aldrich operated a “free speech” website which valorized mass shootings and hosted extreme racist and anti-semitic content.

The individual suspected of murdering 5 club goers and injuring 17 more and terrorizing an international community of LGBTQ people has been formally charged with hate crimes, according to reporting from CBS news. Prosecutors at one point said they weren’t sure if hate crimes would be charged because of the need to examine the evidence, so the fact they’re moving forward is significant, although the evidence has yet to be made public.
