The Cult of Reality-Defiers and Body-Destroyers
It’s tough work, but somebody has to defy reality before reality murders us all in our beds.

William Wolfe, an op-ed contributor to the Christian Post (an evangelical news and opinion website), is REALLY upset about what he calls “transgenderism.” Really, really upset.
Wolfe is so het up over transgender hormones and pronouns and forearms that it’s hard to choose just one paragraph to fully represent just how upset he is. So, here’s another one that has the benefit of mentioning C.S. Lewis, whose books I enjoyed as a child myself.
We like to take as light a touch as we can at Assigned, and look for the humor in being called a reality-defying body-destroyer whose perversions are grotesque (as opposed to Wolfe, whose own perversions are assumedly very tame and demure.) But it’s easy to see why this stuff has led to deadly violence already and is likely to lead to even more. When you dehumanize people to this extent, and when you inflate the stakes to the point where you accuse your opponent of destroying reality itself, anything becomes possible. At Assigned, we’re just hoping something will stop this tsunami of fear and anger and paranoia and conspiracy about transgender people on the right, before it’s too late.
Otherwise, for someone who’s written what’s in the screenshot above, it’s hard to imagine there are any limits to what he might do, or encourage others to do in his god’s name.
